For sale here is a Paul H. Young Perfectionist -- 7'6" 2/2 4-5wt bamboo fly rod. Serial no. 4202. Made by Bob Summers. The rod is in excellent+ and original condition. The one issue being that one guide wrap is beginning to crack and will require a dap of varnish to secure it for years to come. The guide is located on one of the tips, second guide up from the ferrule. All sections are full length, straight and have never been repaired.
The rod features the signature PHY mottle-flamed look that appeals to so many. Deep golden/copper wraps blend well for an understated look. Blued guides. Carbide stripping guide. The script, in Bob Summers' hand, remains clean and bold. It reads,
"A Paul H. Young Co. Rod" and two flats down, "Perfectionist 7'6" 2.95 oz."
Garrison style hook keeper. E.C. Powell-style grip only lightly soiled and quite smooth. Black aluminum dual sliding band reel seat with a cork spacer. The Super-Z ferrules are size 12/64 with a perfect fit. The parabolic action is medium-fast. Authoritative with excellent recovery. The rod weighs in at a lean 2.95 oz. Includes original satin bag showing only light wear and free of holes with the exception of two minor holes in the top flap caused by the tip-tops. Also, includes the original Champion-style tube. The tube is housed in a canvas cover for protection.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
