For sale here is a Paul H. Young Perfectionist Model -- 7'6" 2/2 4-5wt bamboo fly rod. Serial no. 4677. Made in 1975 during the Bob Summers' era at the PHY Rod Co. The rod is in excellent+ original condition. All sections are full length and straight, free of any repairs.
The rod features the signature PHY mottle-flamed look that appeals to so many. Chestnut colored wraps blend well for an understated look. Blued guides. Carbide stripping guide. The script, in Bob Summers' hand, remains clean and bold. It reads, First flat: "George J. Demchik May 19, 1975" Second flat: A Paul H. Young Co. Rod Third flat: Perfectionist 7'6" 2 1/2 oz.
Garrison style hook keeper. Cigar/Garrison-style grip 5 1/2" in length and only lightly soiled. Blued aluminum dual sliding band reel seat over a mortised cork spacer. The step-down ferrules are size 12/64 with a nice and tight fit, perfect. The parabolic action is medium-fast and the rod recovers very well. Terrific for fishing a dry fly. The rod weighs in at a lean 2.95 oz. Includes replacement bag and tube.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Your shipping estimate will be calculated at checkout and if you have any questions please contact us. Please note the buyers are responsible for any applicable import duties or fees that may levied. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
