For sale here is a Paul H. Young "Texas General" bamboo rod. 8 1/2 feet in length for an 8WF line. Serial #3344 built by Paul Young in 1958. The rod is in excellent original condition though it does have some light varnish wear. All wraps remain secure though the female ferrule wraps could use a light varnish overcoat for protection. Both sections are full length and straight.
Originally made as a one tip rod per the PHY rod ledger. The ledger also shows no name in the "Owner" column. This may be one of the only rods made in the serial numbering era without a name on the rod!
Classic mottle-flamed cane with bronze wraps. Blued guides. The script, in Paul's handwriting, remains clean and bold.
