If you’re lucky, you get to fish with some great people over the years, and Junior and I recently had the pleasure of fishing with Ben Carmichael last summer up on the Margaree in Cape Breton. When the fishing is tough – as it was that week – it makes the company all the more important and we managed to have a pretty darn good time despite the challenging conditions. Anyway, to top it off, Ben is also a heck of a writer and just wrote up a piece about the trip on his blog New England on the Fly (if you are from the New England area and aren’t familiar with it by now, you should be). And if, like me, winter already has you pining for the river and the places where salmon swim, do yourself a favor and check it out!
